- Remove:
- the oil sump (2),
- the filter (3).
- Replace:
- the drain plug seal,
- the filter (3),
- the seals (4),
- the 'gel' magnets (5) and refit the magnet cover plates.
Filling and checking the oil level
- Open the engine hood.
- Remove the cap (1) from the oil filler tube (2) (fig. 3). To do this, break the plate (3) and drive out the pin (4) left inside the cap (1).
- Fill the gearbox with oil, adding the same quantity as was drained.
- Start the engine and run it at 2,000 rpm for 3 seconds.
- Apply the parking brake.
- With the engine at idle, shift repeatedly through all gear ranges.
- Selector lever in position 'P', run the engine at idle for at least 2 minutes.
- Using a diagnostic tool, check the gearbox oil temperature.
- Check the final gearbox fill with tool [1], observing the gearbox oil temperature and engine speed given in the table below.
Automatic gearbox oil level check (at 700 rpm ± 50)
| Gearbox oil temperature | Value shown on oil dipstick [1] |
| 50 'C | 2 à 4 |
| 80 'C | 5 à 7 |
The transmission oil level must not be checked in emergency operation mode.- Check the final gearbox fill again with tool [1], observing the gearbox oil temperature and engine speed given in the table above.
- Correct the level if necessary, then check it again.
If work has been carried out on the transmission oil cooling system, add an additional 0.125 litres of oil.- Disconnect the diagnostic tool.
- Refit the cap (1) and use a new safety pin (4).
Make sure the safety pin (4) clicks into the cap (1).- Check for leaks with the engine running.
