Starting the vehicle

• Apply the parking brake.
• Select P or N.
• Start the engine.

Otherwise, an audible signal will sound, accompanied by a message on the multifunction display.

• With the engine running, depress the brake pedal.
• Release the parking brake.
• Select R, D or M.
• Gradually release the brake pedal.

  The vehicle starts to move.

If N is selected by accident while driving, wait for the engine to return to idle speed, then select D to accelerate. If the engine is idling and the brakes are released, selecting R, D or M will make the vehicle move off even without pressing the accelerator pedal. Never leave children unattended inside the vehicle when the engine is running.

When carrying out maintenance work with the engine running, apply the parking brake and select P.
