With the ignition on,
if this warning light comes on, accompanied by an audible signal and a message on the multifunction display, it indicates a gearbox fault.

In this case, the gearbox switches to fail-safe mode and locks in 3rd gear. As a result, a jolt may be felt when shifting from P to R and from N to R. This jolt does not pose a risk to the gearbox.

Do not exceed 100 km/h and observe applicable regulations.

Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop as soon as possible.

There is a risk of damaging or destroying the gearbox:

  • if the accelerator and brake pedals are pressed at the same time,
  • if, after a battery failure, the lever is forced from position P to another position.

To reduce fuel consumption during a prolonged stop with the engine running (in a traffic jam...), set the gear selector to N and apply the parking brake.
