Driving checks
Coolant temperature indicator
In this manual: Driving checks
~1min read
While driving, the system informs the driver of the coolant temperature.

If the needle is in the following position with the engine running:
- in zone A the temperature is normal,
- in zone B the temperature is too high; the maximum temperature warning light 1 and the central STOP warning light come on, an audible signal sounds, and a message appears on the multifunction display.
Stop the vehicle immediately in a safe place.
Contact a PEUGEOT network dealer or a specialist workshop.
After a few minutes of driving, the temperature and pressure in the cooling system increase.
To top up the level:
- wait for the engine to cool down,
- turn the cap two turns to release the pressure,
- once the pressure has dropped, unscrew the cap,
- top up the level to the "MAXI" mark (rounded line).
For example, in town it is normal for the coolant temperature to be slightly higher in winter than in summer (normal operation may raise the temperature above 100 °C).
