Rear seat belts 7

Latching, unlatching and adjustment are carried out in the same way as for the front seat belts.
Check the correct positioning and operation of the rear seat belts after each handling of the rear seat.
The following information applies to the front and rear seat belts of the vehicle.
- No modification must be made to the original restraint system components: belts and seats, as well as their mountings. For special cases (e.g. installing a child seat), consult a Brand Representative.
- Do not use devices that add slack to the belts (e.g. clothes pegs, clips, etc.). A seat belt worn too loosely may cause injury in an accident.
- Never route the shoulder belt under your arm or behind your back.
- Do not use the same belt for more than one person, and never hold a baby or child on your lap with your seat belt.
- The belt must not be twisted.
- After an accident, have the seat belts checked and replaced if necessary. Likewise, have your seat belt replaced if it shows any sign of damage.
- When refitting the rear seat, make sure the seat belt is correctly repositioned so that it can be used properly.
- Make sure the belt tongue is inserted into the correct buckle.
- Do not place any object in the area of the belt lock that could interfere with its correct operation.
- Make sure the belt lock is correctly positioned (it must not be hidden, crushed, pressed against, etc. by people or objects).
