Practical advice

Connecting the battery charger

~1min read

The charger must be compatible with a 12 V battery.

Do not disconnect the battery while the engine is running. Follow the instructions in the battery charger's manual.

Some batteries may require a special charging method. Consult an authorised dealer for advice.

Avoid sparking, which may cause an explosion. Charge the battery only in a well-ventilated room. Risk of serious injury.

Handle the battery with care, as it contains sulphuric acid, which is very dangerous if it comes into contact with skin or eyes. If this happens, rinse the affected area thoroughly with water. If necessary, consult a doctor. Keep open flames and any glowing or sparking objects at a safe distance from the battery, as it may explode. When working near the engine, remember that it may be hot. In addition, the radiator fan may start at any time.

Risk of injury.
