Jump starting the engine using another vehicle's battery
To jump start the engine using another vehicle's battery, you will need suitable heavy-gauge jumper cables, available from an Authorised Dealer. If you already have jumper cables, make sure they are in good condition.
Both batteries must have the same rated voltage: 12 V.
The battery supplying power must have a capacity (ampere-hours, Ah) at least equal to the rated capacity of the discharged battery.
Check carefully that the two vehicles are not in direct contact (connecting the positive terminals creates a risk of short circuit) and that the discharged battery is connected correctly. Switch off the ignition of the vehicle receiving power.
Start the engine of the donor vehicle. It should run at medium speed.

Depending on the vehicle version, remove the battery cover.
Connect the positive cable A to terminal 1 (+), then to terminal 4 (+) of the donor battery.
Connect the negative cable B to terminal 3 (-) of the donor battery, then to terminal 2 (-) of the discharged battery.
Start the engine and, as soon as it runs, disconnect cables A and B in reverse order (2 - 3 - 4 - 1).

Check that cables A and B are not touching each other and that the positive cable A is not touching any metal part of the donor vehicle.
Risk of injury and/or vehicle damage.
