  • Use ECO mode as often as possible.
  • Switched-on electrical consumers increase fuel consumption. Therefore, switch them off as soon as they are no longer needed. However, (safety first) switch on the lights when road conditions require it (remember: be seen and see).
  • Use the ventilation system. Driving at 100 km/h with the windows open increases fuel consumption by 4%.
  • When refuelling, do not overfill the tank.
  • On vehicles equipped with air conditioning, increased fuel consumption (especially in city driving) with the air conditioning switched on is normal. On vehicles with air conditioning without an automatic mode, switch it off when it is no longer needed.

Tips to reduce fuel consumption and thus help protect the environment: If the vehicle has been parked in hot weather or in direct sunlight, ventilate it to remove hot air before starting the engine.

  • Avoid driving with an empty roof rack.
  • To transport bulky items, use a trailer.
  • When towing a caravan, fit an approved roof spoiler and adjust it correctly.
  • Avoid "door-to-door" driving (short trips, long stops) - in these conditions the engine does not reach its proper operating temperature.
  • Test yourself
