Configurations and teachings
1. GENERAL
This is an anti-theft system controlled by a RENAULT badge recognition system with a random evolving code.
Coded electronics (operating without a battery), independent of the remote control function, is built into each RENAULT badge for the vehicle.
The immobilizer is activated a few seconds after the RENAULT badge is removed from the badge holder. It is indicated by the red warning light on the dashboard flashing and by the electronic steering column lock engaging.
During manufacture, a twelve-character hexadecimal code is assigned to the vehicle to make the immobilizer system operational.
The repair code is required in the aftersales department to:
- add RENAULT badges,
- replace one or more RENAULT badges,
- deassign one or more RENAULT badges (for example, in case of loss or theft),
- replace a cabin central unit.
- the Minitel server,
- the voice server,
- the Techline.
2. LEARNING THE CABIN CENTRAL UNIT
New parts are not coded. Once fitted to the vehicle, they must therefore learn a code to become operational.
To carry out this procedure, certain parts on the vehicle must already be correctly coded (to the vehicle code). Refer to the assignment table.
WARNINGIf a part has learned a code, it is assigned to the vehicle and it is impossible to erase this code or to learn a new code. A learned code cannot be erased.

The RENAULT badge assigned to a vehicle must be blank or already learned on the vehicle.
Note:- The RENAULT badge can be learned on a vehicle but will not be operational (not assigned).
- Only the RENAULT badges presented during assignment will be operational.

3. RENAULT BADGE ASSIGNMENT PROCEDURE
Note: A RENAULT badge can be identified as blank by its status: ET
IMPORTANTIf not all RENAULT badges are available, a reassignment procedure must be carried out afterwards with all the badges.
In the "Learning" menu, select the line "SC006 badge assignment".
The tool displays "Remove the badge from the badge holder".
The tool displays "Warning: badges learned before the current procedure will be permanently inactive after the first badge is learned. Caution: do not forget to present all badges to be assigned to the vehicle during learning".
The tool displays "Enter the aftersales code".
With the badge outside the badge holder, enter the aftersales secret code (12 uppercase hexadecimal characters) and confirm.
If the format is correct, the tool displays "Insert the badge fully into the badge holder".
Then insert the blank badge or the badge belonging to the vehicle and confirm.
The tool displays "Learning in progress". Do not remove the badge until the following message appears: "One badge learned".
The tool displays "Do you want to learn another badge". The vehicle can hold a maximum of four badges.
To assign a second badge, select "YES".
The tool displays "Insert the badge fully into the badge holder".
Then insert the blank badge or the badge belonging to the vehicle and confirm.
Note: If the same badge is presented twice, the system ignores it and the immobilizer indicator remains off.To finish the learning procedure, select "NO" and confirm. The badges are assigned to the vehicle, and the vehicle serial number is stored in the badges and in the Cabin Central Unit.
WARNINGThese badges must be the vehicle's existing RENAULT badges or new uncoded RENAULT badges.
Note: The vehicle can accept several RENAULT badges fitted with the function. WARNINGBetween each operation, the maximum time allowed is 5 minutes; otherwise the procedure is cancelled and the tool displays the message "Procedure interrupted: warning, the badges assigned to the vehicle are those that were assigned before the procedure was started; they are no longer blank and can only be assigned to this vehicle". This message also appears if communication with the Cabin Central Unit is lost or if the battery is disconnected.
Configure the Cabin Central Unit according to the vehicle options and equipment.
Note:When only the Cabin Central Unit is replaced, no action is required on the injection computer; it keeps the same immobilizer code.
Special notes
For any work on this system, this repair code number can be requested from the local assistance network.
When requesting a number, the VIN of the vehicle and its manufacturing number must be provided.
These details allow the operator to identify the vehicle and provide the correct code.
Replacement RENAULT badges are supplied uncoded, without a number and without an emergency metal insert.
The battery for the hands-free function is charged.
This system can have up to four RENAULT badges. The remote control function, the battery and the accumulator (on hands-free versions) have no effect on the immobilizer.
Depending on the version, this system can be combined with a badge fitted with the hands-free function.
In case of loss or theft, at the customer's request, one or more badges can be deassigned from the vehicle.
They can be reassigned to the same vehicle if necessary.
WARNINGWith this system, it is impossible to replace several components simultaneously, such as the Cabin Central Unit and the badge, or the Cabin Central Unit and the injection computer.
(These parts are sold blank, uncoded.) Indeed, when they are replaced, it is not possible to code these components if none of them holds the vehicle's original code in memory.
There is no way to erase the code learned by the system components. The learned code cannot be erased.

4. CONFIGURATION OF THE BODY CONTROL MODULE
The Body Control Module configurations available using the diagnostic tool are:

(*)
A = Heating (without air conditioning), without cabin heater resistor.
B = Manual air conditioning, without cabin heater resistor.
C = Automatic air conditioning, without cabin heater resistor.
D = Heating (without air conditioning) with one cabin heater resistor.
E = Manual air conditioning, with one cabin heater resistor.
F = Automatic air conditioning, with one cabin heater resistor.
G = Heating (without air conditioning) with two cabin heater resistors.
H = Manual air conditioning, with two cabin heater resistors.
I = Automatic air conditioning, with two cabin heater resistors.
Body Control Module specific controls

After carrying out the configurations, learn the Tire Pressure Monitoring System valves (see chapter 35B) and enter the multiplexed network topology (see chapter 88B). Switch off the ignition, wait one minute, then disconnect the battery to apply the configurations, then confirm by reading the configuration using the diagnostic tool.
5. CODING THE ENGINE INJECTION COMPUTER
The injection computer is supplied uncoded. It is therefore necessary to teach it the immobilizer system code when it is fitted, to allow the vehicle to start.
Simply switch the ignition on for a few seconds without starting the engine. Switch off the ignition; the immobilizer function is active after a few seconds.
