Fuel tank (refuelling)

Usable tank capacity: approximately 59 litres.
With the vehicle unlocked, to open flap b, slide your finger into cutout c.
Flap a is integrated into the filler pipe.
For refuelling, refer to the "Refuelling" section.
To close, push the flap by hand until it stops.
Fuel quality
Use good-quality fuel that complies with the current standards applicable in each country and that strictly matches the information on the label located on flap B. Refer to the "Engine specifications" section in chapter 6.
Diesel versions
Only use diesel that complies with the information on the label located inside flap B.
Petrol versions
Only use unleaded petrol. The octane rating (RON) must match the information on the label located on flap B. Refer to the "Engine specifications" in chapter 6.
Never press flap A with your fingers. Do not wash the filler area with a high-pressure cleaner.Vehicles running on ethanol-based fuel
Only use unleaded petrol or a fuel containing a maximum of 85% ethanol (E85).
In extreme cold, starting the engine may be difficult, or even impossible.
To avoid this problem, use unleaded petrol or, for vehicles so equipped, use the engine block heater: connect the specific end of the supplied extension cable to the socket built into the radiator grille and the other end to a 220 V socket for at least 6 hours before starting.
Note: when using this fuel you may notice higher fuel consumption.
Do not mix petrol (unleaded or E85) with diesel, even in small quantities.Do not use ethanol-based fuel if your vehicle is not designed for it.
Refuelling
Insert the nozzle to push back flap A and push it fully in before triggering it to fill the tank (risk of splashing). Keep it in this position throughout the filling operation.
After the first automatic shut-off at the end of filling, you may trigger the nozzle up to two more times at most, to leave room for fuel expansion.
During refuelling, make sure no water enters. Flap A and its surround must remain clean.
Petrol versions
Using leaded petrol would damage the emission control systems and could void the warranty.
To prevent filling with leaded petrol, the fuel filler neck has a restrictor with a safety system that only allows the use of an unleaded petrol nozzle (at the pump).
Persistent fuel smellIf a persistent smell of fuel occurs, please:
- stop the vehicle safely, in accordance with traffic conditions, and switch off the ignition;
- switch on the hazard warning lights, get all occupants out of the vehicle and keep them away from the traffic;
- contact a brand representative.
Any work on or modification of the fuel system (electronic units, wiring, fuel circuit, injector, protective covers, etc.) is strictly prohibited because of the risks it may present to your safety (except by qualified personnel of the brand's network).
Fuel run-out, diesel version
After a breakdown caused by the fuel running completely out, you must bleed the circuit before attempting to restart the engine. Operate priming pump 1.
You can then restart the engine.
If the engine does not restart after several attempts, contact a brand representative.
