Airbag Deployment Conditions
Front Airbags

The front airbags and driver's knee airbag are designed to deploy in a frontal collision, depending on the severity, speed, or angle of the frontal impact.
Side Airbags and Side Curtain Airbags

Side airbags and side curtain airbags deploy when the side impact sensors detect an impact, depending on the severity, speed, or angle of the side impact.
Although the driver and front passenger airbags are designed to deploy only in frontal collisions, they may also deploy in other types of collisions if the frontal impact sensors detect a severe impact. Side airbags and side curtain airbags are designed to deploy only in side collisions or rollovers, but they may deploy in other collisions if the side impact sensors detect a sufficiently severe impact.
If the underbody of the vehicle strikes bumps or objects on rough roads, the airbags may deploy. Drive carefully on rough roads or surfaces not intended for vehicle travel to prevent unintentional airbag deployment.
