Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS)
WARNING
The Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) or Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system will not prevent accidents caused by improper or hazardous driving maneuvers. Although vehicle control is improved during emergency braking, always maintain a safe distance between your vehicle and objects in front of you. Vehicle speed should always be reduced under extreme road conditions. Braking distance for vehicles equipped with ABS or ESC may be longer than for vehicles without these systems under the following road conditions.
- Drive at reduced speed under the following conditions:
- Rough, gravel, or snow-covered roads.
- Roads with a damaged surface or uneven height.
- Snow chains are installed on your vehicle.
Do not test the safety functions of a vehicle equipped with ABS or ESC at high speed or while cornering. This may endanger your safety or the safety of others.
ABS is an electronic brake system that helps prevent skidding during braking. The ABS allows the driver to steer and brake at the same time.
