Your vehicle is equipped with an emergency trunk release lever located inside the trunk. If someone is accidentally locked in the trunk, the trunk can be opened by moving the lever in the direction of the arrow and pushing the trunk lid open.
WARNING
- You and your passengers should know the location of the emergency trunk release lever in this vehicle and how to open the trunk in case you are accidentally locked in the trunk.
- NEVER allow anyone to occupy the trunk of the vehicle at any time. If the trunk is partially or fully closed and a person cannot get out, serious injury or death may result from lack of ventilation, exhaust gases, rapid build-up of heat, or exposure to cold weather. The trunk is also a very dangerous place in the event of a collision, because it is not a protected passenger compartment but part of the vehicle's crush zone.
- Your vehicle must be locked, and the smart key must not be left within reach of children. Parents should inform their children of the dangers of playing in the trunk.
- Use the release lever only in emergency situations.
Inside the Vehicle
If you cannot open the trunk due to a discharged battery or other reasons, you can open the trunk from inside the vehicle.
