Opening the Trunk

1. Make sure the shift lever is in the P (Park) position.

2. Then perform one of the following:

- Press the button (1) on the trunk handle after locking or unlocking the door with the remote key or smart key.
- Press and hold the trunk unlock button on the remote key or smart key for more than 1 second.
- Press the button (1) on the trunk itself while carrying the smart key.

WARNING

The button (1) on the trunk handle is rubber. Do not press it with sharp objects such as a key, screwdriver, or drill.

- Use the trunk open button.

3. Lift the trunk lid.

Closing the Trunk

Lower the trunk lid and press down until it latches.

WARNING

Always keep the trunk lid fully closed while driving the vehicle. If it is left open or partially open, toxic exhaust gases containing carbon monoxide (CO) may enter the vehicle, which may cause serious illness or death.

WARNING

Make sure no people or objects are near the trunk before opening or closing the Power Trunk. Wait until the trunk is fully open and has stopped before loading or unloading cargo.

NOTICE

To avoid damage to the trunk lift cylinders and attached equipment, always close the trunk before driving.

Information

In cold and humid climates, the trunk lock and trunk mechanisms may not operate properly due to freezing conditions.
