Operating the system
Natural ventilation
Move the mode selector lever to the "VENT" position, the air intake lever to "Outside air", select the desired air temperature with the temperature control lever, and set the fan lever to "OFF". Fresh air will flow into the interior while driving.
Forced ventilation
Set the levers as for natural ventilation, except that the fan lever is set to a position other than "OFF".
Normal heating (using outside air)
Move the mode selector lever to "HEAT", the air intake lever to "Outside air", set the air temperature with the temperature control lever, and set the airflow strength with the fan lever.
A higher blower speed increases heating performance.
Quick heating (using recirculated air)
Set the levers as for heating with outside air, except that the air intake lever must be moved to the "Recirculated air" position.
If this position is used for a long time, the humidity of the air increases and the windows may fog up. Therefore, this method should only be used for quick heating of the interior, and normal heating should be resumed as soon as possible.
Face cooling / foot heating
Move the mode selector lever to "BI-LEVEL", the air intake lever to "Outside air", and set the temperature and fan as desired. If the temperature control lever is not at either end position (HOT or COLD), the air from the side and center vents will be cooler than the air from the footwell vents.
Defrosting windows / foot heating
Move the mode selector lever to "DEFROST AND HEAT", the air intake lever to "Outside air", set the temperature as desired, and set the fan to the highest speed. When the windshield is clear, adjust the fan speed as desired.
Defrosting
Move the mode selector lever to "DEFROST", the air intake lever to "Outside air", set the temperature as desired, and set the fan to the highest speed. Setting the temperature control to a higher temperature increases defrosting efficiency. When the windshield is clear, adjust the blower speed as desired.
