Adjusting front axle toe
  • Counterhold track rod ball joint -1- with a suitable tool when loosening and tightening lock nut -2-.
  • Loosen lock nut -2-.
  • Adjust toe setting at both wheels by turning hexagon flats -arrow-.
Note Ensure that bellows on steering rack are not damaged or twisted. Twisted boots wear out quickly. Tighten lock nuts on threaded portion only when vehicle is standing on its wheels - track rod ball head must be parallel with steering lever of suspension strut.
  • Tighten lock nut -2- and check toe setting again.

The setting may change slightly after lock nut -2- is tightened .

However, if the measured toe value lies within the tolerance, the adjustment is correct → Chapter „Specified values for wheel alignment“.
