Weights
Maximum gross weight, etc. are shown on a label in the vehicle.
Curb weight includes the driver, fuel tank contents at 90% capacity, and all oils and fluids.
The weight of occupants and fitted accessories, as well as the nose weight when towing a trailer, affect the maximum possible payload and are not included in the curb weight.
Permissible payload = permissible gross weight - curb weight.
CAUTIONThe documented curb weight applies to the vehicle in basic configuration, i.e. a vehicle without special equipment or options. This means that for every option added, the vehicle's payload is reduced by the weight of the option.
Examples of options that reduce the payload are the Kinetic, Momentum and Summum trim levels, as well as other options such as towing bracket, roof rack, roof box, audio system, auxiliary headlights, GPS, fuel-operated heater, protective grilles, carpets, cargo covers, power-adjustable seats, etc. The curb weight of your vehicle can be determined reliably by weighing it on a scale.
WARNINGThe vehicle's handling characteristics change depending on the load and the distribution of the cargo.
