Technical requirements

The towing device must meet specific criteria.

Your car was designed primarily for transporting people and luggage. However, it can also be used to tow a trailer, provided it is fitted with the necessary technical equipment.

If your car was equipped with a towing device at the factory, it already has everything required, both technically and legally, for towing a trailer.

Your car has a 13-pin socket for the electrical connection to the trailer. If the trailer has a 7-pin plug, you can obtain an adapter cable from an Audi dealer.

CAUTION!

For retrofitting a towing device, contact only a qualified specialist workshop.

• Do not drive on excessively long gradients if the vehicle is not equipped with an appropriate cooling system, especially when the ambient temperature is high, as the engine could overheat.
• Incorrect installation poses a real risk of accident.
