General information

We recommend having the oil changed by an Audi dealer or a qualified workshop in accordance with the Service Schedule and the service interval indicator information (instrument cluster).

Refer to the Service Schedule to find out whether your vehicle has a flexible or fixed service interval.

The specifications of the oils approved for your engine are listed in Technical Data, “Specifications and capacities”. The specifications (VW standards) given must appear individually or in combination with other specifications on the oil container.

Flexible service intervals (LongLife Service*)

Special oils have been developed for the Audi LongLife Service. See “Service Schedule” => page 320, “Specifications and capacities”.

They justify the redefinition of the LongLife Service intervals. For this reason, only these oils must be used.

• Avoid mixing them with other oils for fixed service intervals, otherwise the essential condition for redefining the service interval is no longer met.
• If the engine oil level is too low and you do not have LongLife oil, you may, as a strictly exceptional measure, add a small quantity (0.5 l maximum) of oil for fixed service intervals, once only. See “Specifications and capacities”.

Fixed service intervals*

If LongLife Service is not provided for your vehicle, you may use oils for fixed service intervals, see “Specifications and capacities”. In this case, you must observe a fixed service interval of 1 year / 15,000 km (see Service Schedule).

• If the engine oil level is too low and you do not have the prescribed oil, you may, as a strictly exceptional measure, add a small quantity (0.5 l maximum) of oil that meets ACEA A2/ACEA A3 (petrol engines) or ACEA B3/ACEA B4 (diesel engines), once only.

Diesel vehicles with particulate filter*

Refer to the Service Schedule to find out whether your diesel vehicle has a particulate filter.

• Use only VW 507 00 oil if your vehicle is fitted with a diesel particulate filter. This oil meets the requirements of the flexible service interval (LongLife Service) as well as those of the fixed service interval.
• Avoid mixing it with other oils.
• If the engine oil level is too low and you do not have the prescribed oil, you may, as a strictly exceptional measure, add a small quantity (0.5 l maximum) of oil that meets VW 506 00 and VW 506 01 or VW 505 00 and VW 505 01 or ACEA B3 and ACEA B4, once only.
