Textiles and fabric upholstery
Vacuum textiles and fabric upholstery (e.g. seats, door trim, etc.) regularly. This removes surface dirt particles and those embedded in the textiles during use. Do not use steam cleaners, as the steam causes dirt to penetrate deeper and become fixed in the textiles.
Normal cleaning
For cleaning, we recommend using a soft sponge or a lint-free microfibre cloth. Only clean floor mats with a brush, as other textile surfaces could be damaged.
For light surface soiling, you can use a conventional foam cleaner. Apply the foam to the textile surface with a soft sponge and rub gently to work it in.
However, avoid soaking the textile. Then blot up the foam with dry absorbent cloths (e.g. microfibre cloths) and vacuum the textiles once they are completely dry.
Removing stains
Drink stains (e.g. coffee, fruit juice, etc.) can be treated with a delicate fabric washing solution applied with a sponge. For stubborn stains, apply a washing paste to the stain and rub gently to work it in. Then apply clean water with a damp cloth or sponge to completely remove the washing solution, and blot with dry absorbent cloths.
Apply a washing paste (e.g. ox gall soap) to chocolate or make-up stains and rub gently to work it in.
Then remove the soap with water (damp sponge).
You can use alcohol to remove grease, oil, lipstick or ballpoint pen stains. Blot dissolved dye or grease stains with an absorbent cloth! It may then be necessary to treat the stains again with washing paste and water.
When fabric upholstery is very dirty (without specific stains), we recommend engaging a cleaning company to shampoo and then vacuum the upholstery.
Note
If a hook-and-loop fastener is on your clothing, it can damage the seat upholstery when opened. Make sure that hook-and-loop fasteners are closed.
