Care and Cleaning Recommendations

~1min read

Observe the following rules when caring for and cleaning the unit.

Never leave audio cassettes in the following locations:

• On top of the control panel.
• In places exposed to direct sunlight or heat.
• Near speakers or sources of strong magnetic fields.

Cleaning the Audio Head:

• To maintain good sound quality when playing cassettes, the audio head must be cleaned regularly.
• When using a cleaning cassette, first read the instructions supplied with it.

Using a cleaning cassette too frequently may damage the audio head.

Cleaning the Car Audio Unit

• Wipe dust from the front of the unit with a dry, clean cloth.

Turn off the audio unit before cleaning.

• Never use turpentine, turpentine substitutes (solvents) or alcohol for cleaning. These liquids may damage the plastic and erase the markings on the buttons.

Handling Compact Discs Do not touch the recording surface of the compact disc. Hold the compact disc only by the center and the edge.

After playing, return compact discs to their cases.

Do not leave compact discs in direct sunlight or near other heat sources.

• Do not open the audio unit housing.
• Make sure that no liquid gets on or into the audio unit.

Some compact discs may not play or may play with interruptions in the car CD player. This may be caused by a defective disc with a serviceable car player, or by contamination of the player's optical system.

Damage to the CD player caused by low-quality compact discs or incorrect loading of a disc is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
