In this manual: STARTING AND OPERATING

NOTE:
- Make sure there is no snow, ice, dirt, mud, or debris on the rear fascia/bumper to ensure proper operation of the ParkSense system.
- Jackhammers, large trucks, and other vibrations may affect ParkSense performance.
- When you turn ParkSense off in DRIVE, the "PARKSENSE OFF" message appears in the instrument cluster display for five seconds. Once you turn ParkSense off, it remains off until you turn it on again, even if you turn the ignition off.
- When you move the gear selector to the REVERSE position and ParkSense is off, the "PARKSENSE OFF" message will appear in the instrument cluster display for as long as the vehicle is in REVERSE.
- ParkSense will reduce the radio volume when it sounds a tone.
- Clean the ParkSense sensors regularly, taking care not to scratch or damage them. The sensors must not be covered with ice, snow, slush, mud, dirt, or debris. Otherwise, the system may not operate correctly. The ParkSense system may fail to detect an obstacle behind the fascia/bumper, or may give a false indication that an obstacle is behind the fascia/bumper.
- Use the ParkSense switch to turn off the ParkSense system if objects such as bicycle racks, trailer hitches, etc. are placed within 12 inches (30 cm) of the rear fascia/bumper. If you do not, the system may misinterpret a nearby object as a sensor fault, causing the "PARKSENSE UNAVAILABLE WIPE REAR SENSORS" message to appear in the instrument cluster display.
- ParkSense is only a parking aid and cannot detect all obstacles, including small obstacles. Parking curbs may be detected temporarily or may not be detected at all. Obstacles located above or below the sensors will not be detected when they are at close range.
- When using ParkSense, the vehicle should move slowly so that you can stop in time if an obstacle is detected. It is recommended that the driver look over the shoulder when using ParkSense.
