ParkSense Park Assist System Service
During vehicle start-up, if the rear ParkSense park assist system detects a fault condition, a single chime will sound once per ignition cycle and the instrument cluster display will show the message "PARKSENSE UNAVAILABLE WIPE REAR SENSORS" or the message "PARKSENSE SERVICE REQUIRED". When the gear selector is moved to the REVERSE position and the system has detected a fault, the instrument cluster display will show the message "PARKSENSE UNAVAILABLE WIPE REAR SENSORS" or "PARKSENSE SERVICE REQUIRED" for as long as the vehicle is in REVERSE. In this case, ParkSense will not operate.
If the "PARKSENSE UNAVAILABLE WIPE REAR SENSORS" message appears in the instrument cluster display, make sure the outer surface and lower part of the rear fascia/bumper are clean and free of snow, ice, dirt, mud, or other obstructions, then turn the ignition on.
If the message continues to appear, see an authorized dealer.
If the "PARKSENSE SERVICE REQUIRED" message appears in the instrument cluster display, see an authorized dealer.
Cleaning the ParkSense System
Clean the ParkSense sensors with water, mild detergent, and a soft cloth. Do not use rough or hard cloths. Do not scratch or puncture the sensors. Otherwise, you could damage the sensors.
