Starting the engine

~1min read

The vehicle is equipped with an electronic immobilizer. If the engine cannot be started, see the information in the section "The Fiat CODE system" in the chapter "Instrument panel and controls".

During the first few seconds of operation, especially after a long period at rest, louder engine noise may be heard.

This phenomenon, which affects neither operation nor reliability, is typical of hydraulic tappets, i.e. the valve timing system chosen for your petrol engine vehicle in order to reduce the maintenance operations required.

Starting the engine is guaranteed down to a minimum temperature of -18°C (for Italy and Central Europe) and -20°C (for Northern Europe).
