Refuelling

LPG

Maximum refillable capacity (including reserve): 30.5 litres. This value already takes into account the 80% tank fill limit and the residual liquid required for correct pick-up, and it is the maximum permitted refill. Furthermore, this value may vary slightly between refills due to: differences in the delivery pressures of network pumps, pumps with different delivery/cut-off characteristics, and a tank not completely empty of reserve.

WARNING 30) Please note that in some countries (including Italy), current regulations restrict the parking/storage of vehicles powered by gas with a density higher than that of air; LPG falls into this category.

31) Modifications or repairs to the fuel system that are carried out incorrectly and without taking into account the technical characteristics of the system may cause malfunctions with a risk of fire.

32) Do not switch between the two operating modes while the engine is starting. WARNING 10) The extreme operating temperatures of the system are between –20 °C and 100 °C.

11) If the LPG runs out while operating on LPG, the system switches to petrol automatically and all the segments of the digital gauge go out on the display; this display remains until the next LPG refill.

12) The vehicle is equipped with an LPG gaseous injection system designed specifically for this vehicle. It is therefore strictly forbidden to modify the configuration of the system or its components. Using other components or materials may cause malfunctions and reduce safety. In case of faults, contact the Fiat Service Network. When towing or lifting the vehicle, to avoid damaging the gas system components, follow the instructions in the Owner's and Maintenance Handbook under the paragraph "Towing the vehicle".

13) When the vehicle is painted in an oven, the LPG tank must be removed from the vehicle and then refitted by the Fiat Service Network. Although the LPG system has numerous safety features, whenever the vehicle is stored for a long period or moved in emergency circumstances due to faults or accidents, it is recommended to follow this procedure: unscrew the fixing devices A fig. 39, then remove cover B. Close the LPG shut-off valve by turning knob C fig. 41 clockwise. Then refit the cover and retighten the fixing devices.

14) Periodically (at least once every six months) it is recommended to let the LPG in the tank run out and, at the first refuelling, check that the maximum rated capacity of 30.5 litres (including the reserve) is not exceeded (with a tolerance of 2 litres excess) (see the paragraph "Refuelling" in this Supplement). If a value greater than 30.5 litres (including the reserve) is found, contact the Fiat Service Network immediately.

15) Regardless of the fuel type used during the last vehicle use, at the next start-up, after the initial petrol phase, there will be automatic switchover to LPG.

16) When switchover from petrol to LPG is requested, a metallic noise can be heard from the valves that pressurise the circuit. Due to the switchover logic described above, it is completely normal for there to be a delay between the valve ticking and the green indicator light going off.located on the instrument cluster.

17) In particular operating conditions, such as starting and operating at low ambient temperature or supply of LPG with low propane content, the system may temporarily switch to petrol operation without signalling the switchover. In case of low LPG levels in the tank or a request for high performance (e.g. during overtaking, vehicle at full load, climbing steep gradients), the system may automatically switch to petrol operation to ensure the required engine power; in this case the switchover is signalled by the green indicator light coming onlocated on the instrument panel. When the above conditions cease, the system automatically returns to LPG operating mode and the green lightgoes off. To ensure the automatic switchover described above, make sure there is always a sufficient quantity of fuel in the petrol tank.

18) Use only LPG designed for automotive use.

19) The use of any type of additive in LPG is strictly forbidden.
