Refuelling
CNG
Capacity: approx. 12 kg. The total cylinder volume is approx. 72 litres.
WARNING 33) The Fiat Panda Natural Power is equipped with a high-pressure CNG system designed to operate at a nominal 200 bar. Forcing the system to higher pressures is dangerous. When towing or lifting the vehicle, to avoid damaging the CNG system components, follow the instructions in the Owner's and Maintenance Handbook, section: "Towing the vehicle". In case of a CNG system fault, contact only the Fiat Service Network. Do not modify the configuration or components of the CNG system; they have been designed exclusively for the Fiat Panda Natural Power. The use of other components or materials may cause malfunctions and reduce safety. 34) When painting in an oven, the cylinders must be removed from the vehicle and then refitted by the Fiat Service Network. Although the CNG system has numerous safety features, it is recommended to close the manual cylinder valves whenever the vehicle is parked for a long period, transported on another vehicle, or moved in emergency circumstances due to faults or accidents. 35) Modifications or repairs to the fuel system carried out incorrectly and without taking into account the technical characteristics of the system may cause operating faults with risk of fire. 36) Do not switch between the two operating modes during the engine starting phase. WARNING 20) If the CNG runs out during CNG operation, the system automatically switches to petrol and all segments of the digital gauge on the display turn off; this display remains until CNG is refuelled.21) Regardless of the fuel type used during the last vehicle use, at the next start, after the initial petrol phase, the system will automatically switch to CNG.
22) When switching from petrol to CNG is requested, as well as during engine starting, a metallic noise from the pressurising valves of the circuit can be heard. Due to the switching logic described above, it is completely normal for there to be a delay between the valve clicking and the green indicator light going off
located on the instrument cluster.
23) Under particular operating conditions, such as starting and operating at low ambient temperatures, the system may temporarily switch to petrol operation without signalling the switch. If CNG levels in the tank are low, or if high performance is requested (e.g. when overtaking, vehicle fully loaded, climbing steep gradients), the system may automatically switch to petrol to deliver the required engine power; in this case the switch is indicated by the green warning light coming on
located on the instrument panel. When the above conditions cease, the system automatically returns to CNG operating mode and the green light
goes off. To ensure the automatic switchover described above, make sure there is always a sufficient quantity of fuel in the petrol tank.
