Rear wiper/washer

Arming

When the knob is turned from position O to position
the rear wiper is operated as follows:

• intermittently, when the front wipers are not operating;
• in synchronised mode (at half the front wiper frequency), when the front wipers are operating;
• in continuous mode, when reverse gear is engaged and the control is active.

When the front wipers are operating and reverse gear is engaged, the rear wiper switches on and operates in continuous mode.

Pushing the lever towards the dashboard (unstable position) activates the rear washer.

Holding the lever pushed for longer than half a second also switches on the rear wiper. After the lever is released, intelligent washing mode is activated (as with the front wipers).

Deactivation: release the lever.

CAUTION

2) Do not use the wiper to clear snow or ice from the front windscreen. In such situations, if the wipers are overloaded, the motor protection intervenes and stops its operation for up to several seconds. If operation is not restored (even after restarting with the vehicle key), contact a Fiat authorised service centre.

3) Do not operate the front wipers if their blades are lifted away from the glass.

4) Do not switch on the rear wiper to clear snow or ice from the glass. In such situations, if the wipers are overloaded, the motor protection system intervenes and blocks their operation for up to several seconds. If normal operation is not restored, contact a Fiat authorised service centre.
