A short to ground or a short to voltage in the circuit to one of the speakers may cause multiple speakers to lose sound due to the built-in overload protection feature of the ACM. In this case, a speaker DTC is set.

The PCM supplies voltage to the ACM on the start signal circuit when the ignition is in the START position. When voltage is supplied to the ACM, the audio output is muted to prevent pops from being heard through the speakers. A short to voltage in this circuit causes a constant mute of the ACM output.
