Engine warning lights

Malfunction warning light

Powertrain warning light

All vehicles

If one of these lights comes on while the engine is running, this indicates a fault. The engine will continue to run but its power may be limited. If it flashes while driving, reduce the vehicle speed immediately. If it keeps flashing, avoid sudden acceleration or braking. The system should be checked by a suitably trained mechanic immediately.

WARNING

Have the vehicle checked immediately.

If both warning lamps come on at the same time, stop the vehicle as soon as it is safe to do so (continuing to drive may cause power reduction and the engine to stop).

Switch off the ignition and try to restart the engine. If the engine restarts, the system should be checked by a suitably trained technician as soon as possible. If the engine does not restart, the vehicle must be checked before continuing your journey.
