Principle of Operation

The system monitors your driving behavior.

The system is designed to alert you if it determines that you are becoming drowsy or if your driving deteriorates.

Using Driver Alert

Switching the System On and Off

Turn on the system using the information display.

The system calculates your alertness level based on your driving behavior relative to lane markings and other factors.

System Warnings

The alert system works in two stages:

  1. A temporary message is issued telling you to take a break. This message appears only briefly.
  2. If you do not take a break and the system continues to detect that your driving has deteriorated, an additional alert is issued. It remains on the information display until you dismiss it.

Press the OK button on the steering wheel to clear the alert.

System Reset

You can reset the system:

  • Turn the ignition off and on.
  • Stop the vehicle, then open and close the driver's door.
