Climate control system

Operating principles

~1min read
Outside air

Keep the air intakes in front of the windshield clear of snow and leaves to allow the climate control system to operate efficiently.

Recirculated air

The air currently inside the passenger compartment is recirculated. Outside air is prevented from entering the vehicle.

Note: prolonged use of recirculated air may cause the windows to fog up.

Heating

Heating capacity depends on the engine coolant temperature.

General information on passenger compartment temperature control

Close the windows.

Heating the passenger compartment

Direct the air vents toward the feet. In cold temperatures and humid conditions, direct some of the vents toward the windshield and side windows.

Cooling the passenger compartment

Direct the air vents toward the face.

Air conditioning

The system drains condensation outside the vehicle, so small puddles of water may form under the vehicle. This is normal.

Note: The air conditioning system only operates when the temperature is above 4°C.

Note: Fuel consumption increases when the air conditioning is on.
