System Setup
You can set the incoming call alert tone and the type of system voice prompt, as well as select the mode for canceling voice prompts.
To set up the phone system, do the following:
1. Press and release the TALK button. After the beep, say "System". The HFT system will respond: "System options are setup and clear".
2. Press and release the TALK button. After the beep, say "Setup". The system will ask: "Would you like an audible notification of an incoming call?" 3. Press and release the TALK button. If, after the beep, you answer "Yes", the HFT system will ask: "Would you like a ring or prompt?" If, after the beep, you answer "No", the HFT system will return to the main menu. In this case, you will not hear a ring tone or a voice prompt when a call comes in. The audio system will suspend audio playback, and a message about the incoming call will appear on the display.
4. Press and release the TALK button. After the beep, say "Ring tone" or "Prompt".
The HFT system will respond "A ring tone will be used" or "An incoming call prompt will be used".
If you say "Ring tone", you will hear a melodic tone from the audio system speakers when an incoming call arrives. If you say "Prompt", you will hear the system voice prompt:
"You have an incoming call".
5. The HFT system continues: "A security option is available to lock the hands free system".
(The system provides a security function to lock the phone.) "Each time the vehicle is turned on, the password will be required to use the system". "Would you like this security option turned on?" 6. Press and release the TALK button. If, after the beep, you answer "No", the system will confirm: "Security will not be used". System setup is complete.
If you answer "Yes", you can enter a password. To do this, perform the procedure described in the following column.
