"Hands Free" Phone System (HFT)

Changing the HFT System Dialog Language

~3min read

You can select any of the following languages:

English, French, Italian, German, or Spanish

This example explains how to change the language from English to French.

1. Press and release the TALK button. After the tone, say "Change language". The HFT system will ask which language to set: English, French, Italian, German, or Spanish.

2. Press and release the TALK button. After the tone, say "French".

The system will first respond in the new language, then repeat the same response in the current language: "You have selected French". "Name tags that were stored while in another language will not be accessible in French mode". "Would you like to continue?"

3. Press and release the TALK button. After the tone, say "Yes" in the new language; in this example, in French. If no phone paired with the system uses a language other than French, the system will respond in French:

"The language has been changed. Returning to the main menu."

After this, the system will only recognize commands given in the newly set language.

If phones with names in another language are paired with the system, the system will respond in French: "To identify phones paired with the system that use another language, phone names must be re-recorded".

NOTE: If there are phones paired with the HFT system that have non-French names, the dialog continues.

4. The system will ask in the newly set language, for example French: "How would you like to rename the phone <English name>?" Press and release the TALK button.

After the tone, say the name in the selected language. The system HFT will ask: "How would you like to rename the phone <next English name>?" Press and release the TALK button.

After the tone, say the name in French. When the list of phone names paired with the system is exhausted, the HFT system returns to the main menu.

Changing from French to English:

1. Press and release the TALK button. After the tone, say "Change language" in the language currently set. The HFT system will ask, in the current language, which language to set: English, French, Italian, German, or Spanish.

2. Press and release the TALK button. After the tone, say "Anglais" in the language currently set (i.e., in French). The system will respond in the new language: "You have selected English".

"Name tags that were stored while in French mode will not be accessible in English mode". "Would you like to continue?" The system then repeats the same in the new language.

3. Press and release the TALK button. After the tone, say "Oui" (Yes) in the language currently set (i.e., in French).

If no phone paired with the system uses a language other than English, the system will respond in English:

"The language has been changed". "Returning to the main menu".

If phones paired with the system use a language other than English, the system will respond: "The language has been changed". "To identify phones paired with the system that use another language, phone names must be re-recorded".

NOTE: If there are phones paired with the HFT system that have non-English names, the dialog continues.

4. The HFT system will ask: "How would you like to rename the phone <French name, pronounced>?" Press and release the TALK button.

After the tone, say the name in English. The HFT system will ask:

"How would you like to rename the phone <next French name>?" Press and release the TALK button. After the tone, say the new English name of the phone. When the list of phone names paired with the system is exhausted, the HFT system returns to the main menu.
