Pairing the Cellular Phone with the System
Your cellular phone, equipped with a Bluetooth interface, must be paired with the HFT system before you can make and receive phone calls.
NOTE:
You cannot perform the procedure of pairing your phone with the Hands Free (HFT) system while the vehicle is in motion.
During pairing of the phone with the HFT system, the phone must be in "Discovery" mode (searching for compatible devices).
Up to six cellular phones can be paired with the HFT system.
The following procedure applies to most cellular phones. If you cannot pair your phone with the HFT system using this procedure, refer to your phone's owner's manual or consult the retailer.
Before pairing a new phone with the HFT system, disconnect all previously paired phones.
1. With the ignition key in the ACCESSORY (I) or ON (II) position, press and release the TALK button. After the tone, say "Phone setup."
The HFT system will respond: "Phone setup options are status, pair, edit, delete, and list."
2. Press and release the TALK button. After the tone, say "Pair." The HFT system will respond: "The pairing process requires operation of your mobile phone." "For safety, only perform this function while the vehicle is stopped." State a four-digit code for pairing. Note this code. "It will be requested by the phone."
3. Press and release the TALK button. After the tone, say the four-digit code. For example, say "1, 2, 3, 4." The system will repeat the digits and ask you to confirm them.
