Tire and Wheel Replacement

~1min read

Purchase only radial tires for your vehicle, and make sure they fully match the original tires in overall and fitting dimensions, permissible vertical load, speed rating, and maximum permissible air pressure (see the markings on the tire sidewall).

Mixing radial and bias-ply tires on the vehicle is prohibited, as this reduces braking efficiency, traction, and vehicle handling. Changing the tire size or construction will also affect the operation of the anti-lock braking system (ABS).

The operation of the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) is based on comparing wheel rotational speeds. Therefore, when replacing worn tires with new ones, only purchase tires that do not differ in size from the original tires supplied with the vehicle. Differences in tire construction or size may disrupt the normal operation of the vehicle's anti-lock braking system.

From a driving safety standpoint, it is preferable to replace all four tires at once. If this is not possible or practical, replace the tires on either the two front or the two rear wheels. Replacing only one tire is undesirable, as it will negatively affect vehicle handling.

If it becomes necessary to replace the wheel rims during vehicle operation, select rims identical to those installed on the vehicle when new. Consult your dealer before purchasing wheels or tires.

To purchase and replace wheel rims, contact a Honda dealer.

WARNING

Installing unsuitable tires on the vehicle leads to deterioration of steering control and directional stability.

This may result in a road traffic accident and serious injury, disability, or death of the driver and passengers.

Use only tires of the size specified on the label attached to the vehicle body.
