Evaporative Emission Control System

Evaporative Emission Control System Diagram
The evaporative emission control system prevents fuel vapors from escaping from the fuel tank into the atmosphere, thereby preventing the formation of photochemical smog.
Fuel vapors are stored in the charcoal canister. When the engine is running, the ECM opens the purge valve and fuel vapors are drawn into the engine, where they are burned.
The control valve is used to regulate fuel vapor pressure in the fuel tank.
