Electrical Equipment

The negative ground electrical system operates at 12 volts. Power for the electrical system is supplied by a lead-acid battery, which is recharged by the alternator.

Note that before working on any electrical component of the vehicle, the negative battery cable must be disconnected to prevent short circuits and/or fire.

Check the routing and attachment of wires at regular intervals, and make sure wires do not rub against other components. If you find any wires rubbing against other components, move the wires aside and secure them so that this does not happen again.

Do not reverse the polarity of power supplies to various instruments and electrical equipment, to avoid damaging semiconductor devices.

Do not connect or disconnect the battery, measuring instruments, or any wires while the engine is running.

Do not check the alternator operation by grounding the output terminal.
