PROCEDURE

1. Before installing the boot, wrap the splines of the drive shaft on the tripod joint side with adhesive tape.
2. Apply grease to the drive shaft and install the boot.

Birfield CV joint grease: Centoplex 278M/136K TJ

Tripod CV joint grease: KLKTJ41–182 (MS511–50, KOREA KLUBER)

3. To install the dynamic damper, align the Birfield joint straight with respect to the shaft, position the damper at a distance of 437±3 mm and secure it with the clamp.
4. Pack the grease into the tripod joint boot and install the boot on the joint.
Tripod joint boot:
Total grease quantity: 95±6 g
Joint: 60±3 g
Boot: 35±3 g
5. Add to the Birfield joint the same amount of grease that was wiped off during joint inspection.
6. Install the boots.
7. Secure the Birfield joint boot with the clamps.
8. Secure the boots so that the drive shaft length corresponds to the specified values

Left drive shaft length:
With manual transaxle: 645.2±2 mm
With automatic transaxle: 648.9±2 mm
Right drive shaft length:
With manual transaxle: 930.5±2 mm
With automatic transaxle: 934.2±2 mm.
