FCA Sensor

Hyundai Elantra. FCA Sensor

For the FCA system to operate properly, always check that the sensor is clean and free of dirt, snow, and debris.

Dirt, snow, or foreign matter on the sensor cover or sensor may adversely affect sensor sensitivity.

NOTICE

  • NEVER install any accessories or stickers on the front windshield or tinted windshield.
  • NEVER place any reflective objects (for example, white paper or a mirror) on the emergency pad. Any light reflection may prevent the system from operating correctly.
  • Be extremely careful to keep the camera dry.
  • NEVER disassemble the camera assembly or subject the camera to any impact.
  • If the sensor is forcibly moved out of proper alignment, the FCA system may not operate correctly. In this case, a warning message may not be displayed. Have the vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

Information

Contact an authorized HYUNDAI dealer to inspect the system if:

  • The windshield has been replaced.

Warning Message and Indicator

Hyundai Elantra. FCA Sensor

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) system disabled. Camera obstructed

When the front camera is blocked by dirt, snow or debris, the FCA system will not be able to detect other vehicles. If this occurs, a warning message will appear on the LCD display. The system will operate normally when such dirt, snow or debris is removed.

FCA may not operate properly in an area (for example, open terrain) where no objects or vehicles are detected after the engine is started.
