Low-Aspect-Ratio Tires
Low-profile tires, with an aspect ratio of less than 50, are designed for a sporty appearance.
Because low-profile tires are optimized for handling and braking, their sidewalls are somewhat stiffer than those of standard tires. Low-profile tires also tend to be wider and therefore have a larger contact patch with the road surface. In some cases, they may produce more road noise compared with standard tires.
CAUTION
Because the sidewall of a low-profile tire is shorter than that of a standard tire, the wheel rim and the tire itself are more susceptible to damage. Exercise care while driving and follow the guidelines below to minimize damage to the wheel and tire:
- When driving on rough roads or off-road, drive carefully, as tires and wheels may be damaged. After driving, inspect the tires and wheels.
- When passing over a pothole, speed bump, manhole, or curb, drive slowly so that the tires and wheels are not damaged.
- If a tire has been subjected to a strong impact, have the tire and wheel inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
- Check the tire condition and pressure every 1,800 miles (3,000 km).
CAUTION
- Tire damage is not easy to recognize visually. However, if there is any sign of tire damage, inspect or replace the tire, because tire damage may cause air to leak from the tire.
- Damage to a tire caused by driving on rough roads, off-road, or over a pothole, manhole, or curb is not covered by the warranty.
