Filter Replacement

The air cleaner filter can be cleaned or inspected using compressed air. Do not try to wash or rinse it, as water will damage the filter. If it is contaminated, the air cleaner filter must be replaced.

1. Loosen the air cleaner cover clip (1) and open the cover.

2. Replace the air cleaner filter.

3. Insert the air cleaner cover into the hinge (2) and secure the clip (1) after closing the cover.

4. Make sure the cover is installed securely.

Information

If the vehicle is operated in extremely dusty or sandy areas, replace the element more often than the recommended intervals (see "Severe Duty Maintenance" in this chapter).

NOTICE

  • Do not drive with the air cleaner filter removed. This will cause excessive engine wear.
  • When removing the air cleaner filter, be careful that dust or dirt does not enter the air intake, otherwise damage to the engine may result.
  • Use genuine HYUNDAI parts. Using non-genuine parts may damage the engine.
