General Interior Precautions

Avoid caustic solutions, such as perfume or cosmetic oil, from contacting interior parts, as they may cause damage or discoloration. If they contact interior parts, wipe them off immediately. Refer to the instructions for the proper method of cleaning vinyl.

NOTICE

  • Never allow water or other liquids to contact electrical/electronic components inside the vehicle, as this may cause damage to them.
  • When cleaning leather items (steering wheel, seats, etc.), use neutral cleaners or low-alcohol content solutions. If you use high-alcohol solutions or acid/alkaline cleaners, the leather color may fade or the surface may peel.

Cleaning Upholstery and Interior Trim

Vinyl (if equipped)

Remove dust and loose dirt from vinyl with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner. Clean vinyl surfaces with a vinyl cleaner.

Fabric (if equipped)

Remove dust and loose dirt from fabric with a brush or vacuum cleaner. Clean with a mild soap solution recommended for upholstery or carpets. Remove fresh stains immediately with a fabric stain remover. If fresh stains are not treated immediately, the fabric may become discolored and its color may be affected. Also, its flame-resistant properties may be reduced if the material is not properly maintained.

NOTICE

Using anything other than the recommended cleaners and procedures may affect the appearance of the fabric and flame-resistance characteristics.

Leather

• Leather Seat Features

-- The leather is made from the outer hide of an animal that has undergone a special process. Since it is a natural product, each part varies in thickness or density. Wrinkles may appear as a natural result of stretching and shrinking depending on temperature and humidity.
-- The seat is made of an elastic fabric to enhance comfort.
-- The contact areas of the body, the curved and side support areas are high, which provides driving comfort and stability.
-- Wrinkles may appear naturally from use. This is not a product defect.

CAUTION

  • Wrinkles or scratches that appear naturally from use are not covered by the warranty.
  • Belts with metal buckles, zippers, or keys inside the rear pocket may damage the seat fabric.
  • Be careful not to get the seat wet. This may change the characteristics of the natural leather.
  • Jeans or clothing that may bleed color may stain the seat upholstery.

• Leather Seat Care

-- Vacuum the seat regularly to remove dust and sand from the seat. This prevents abrasion or damage to the leather and maintains its quality.
-- Wipe the natural leather seat upholstery frequently with a dry or soft cloth.
-- Using a proper leather protectant can prevent abrasion of the coating and helps maintain the color. Be sure to read the instructions and consult a leather specialist about the coating or protective agent.
-- Light-colored (beige, cream-beige) leather easily becomes soiled and stains are noticeable. Clean spots frequently.
-- Avoid wiping with a wet cloth. This may cause the surface to crack.

• Cleaning Leather Seats

-- Remove all contaminants immediately. See the instructions below for removing each contaminant.
-- Cosmetic products (sunscreen, foundation, etc.)
Apply cleansing cream to a cloth and wipe the soiled area. Wipe off the cream with a damp cloth and remove water with a dry cloth.
-- Beverages (coffee, soft drinks, etc.)
Apply a small amount of neutral detergent and wipe until the stain no longer spreads.
-- Oil
Immediately remove oil with an absorbent cloth and wipe with a stain remover used only for natural leather.
-- Chewing gum
Freeze the chewing gum with ice and remove it gradually.

Cleaning the Seat Belt Webbing

Clean the webbing with a mild soap solution recommended for upholstery or carpet cleaning. Follow the instructions supplied with the soap. Do not bleach or dye the webbing, as this may weaken the seat belt.

Cleaning the Inside of the Window Glass

If the inside glass surfaces of the vehicle become hazy (i.e., covered with an oily, greasy, or waxy film), they should be cleaned with a glass cleaner. Follow the instructions on the glass cleaner container.

NOTICE

Do not scratch or scrape the inside of the rear window. This may cause damage to the rear window defroster grid.
