Explanation of Scheduled Maintenance Items
Engine Oil and Filter
Engine oil and filter must be replaced at the intervals specified in the Maintenance Schedule. If the vehicle is operated under severe conditions, more frequent oil and filter replacement is necessary.
Seat Belts
Inspect all drive belts for signs of cuts, cracks, excessive wear, or oil saturation, and replace as necessary. Drive belts should be checked periodically for proper tension and adjusted as necessary.
Fuel filter
A clogged fuel filter may limit vehicle speed, damage the emission control system, and cause hard starting. When a significant amount of foreign matter has accumulated in the fuel tank, the fuel filter must be replaced.
After installing a new fuel filter, run the engine for several minutes and check the connections for leaks. Fuel filters must be installed by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Fuel Lines, Fuel Hoses and Connections
Inspect the fuel lines, fuel hoses and connections for leaks and damage. Have an authorized HYUNDAI dealer replace damaged or leaking parts immediately.
Vapor Hose and Fuel Tank Cap
The vapor hose and fuel tank cap must be inspected at the interval specified in the Maintenance Schedule. Make sure the new vapor hose or fuel tank cap is correctly installed.
Air Cleaner Filter
An genuine HYUNDAI air cleaner filter is recommended when replacing the filter.
Spark Plugs

Engine Coolant
Engine coolant should be replaced at the intervals specified in the Maintenance Schedule.
Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) Fluid (if equipped)
IVT fluid does not need to be checked under normal driving conditions.
We recommend that the IVT fluid be replaced by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer in accordance with the Maintenance Schedule.
Brake Hoses and Lines
Visually inspect for proper installation, chafing, cracks, wear, and any leaks. Replace any worn or damaged parts immediately.
Brake fluid
Check the brake fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir. The level should be between the MIN and MAX marks on the side of the reservoir. Use only brake fluid meeting DOT 4 specification.
Parking Brake
Inspect the parking brake system, including the parking brake pedal and cables.
Brake Pads, Discs, Calipers and Rotors
Check the pads for excessive wear, the discs and rotors for runout and wear, and the calipers for fluid leaks.
Suspension Mounting Bolts
Check the suspension connections for looseness or damage. Tighten to the specified torque.
Steering Gear Box, Linkage and Lower Arm Ball Joint Boots
With the vehicle stopped and the engine off, check the steering wheel for excessive play. Check the linkage for bends or damage. Check the boots and ball joints for wear, cracks, or damage.
Replace any damaged parts.
