Bulbs

~1min read

Contact an authorized HYUNDAI dealer to replace most vehicle bulbs. Replacing some vehicle bulbs is difficult because other parts of the vehicle must be removed before you can access the bulb. This is especially true for removing the headlamp assembly to access the bulb(s).

Removing/installing the headlamp assembly may cause damage to the vehicle.

Information

Headlamp and taillamp lenses may appear to have frost if the vehicle is washed after driving or driven at night in humid weather. This condition is caused by the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the lamp and does not indicate a problem with your vehicle. When moisture condenses in the lamp, it will be removed after driving with the headlamps on. The removal time may vary depending on the size of the lamp, lamp position and environmental conditions. However, if the moisture is not removed, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

WARNING

  • Before replacing a bulb, depress the brake pedal, move the shift lever to P (Park), apply the parking brake, turn the ignition switch to the LOCK/OFF position, and take the key with you when leaving the vehicle to prevent sudden vehicle movement and possible electric shock.
  • Be aware that bulbs may be hot and can burn your fingers.
  • When a lamp is disconnected or the lamp connector is removed while the lamp is operating normally, the electronic fuse box may detect the lamp as a malfunction. Therefore, a lamp malfunction record may remain as a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) stored in the fuse box.

NOTICE

Be sure to replace a burned-out bulb with one of the same rating. Otherwise, this may cause damage to the fuse or wiring system.

Information

Headlamp aim must be adjusted after an accident or after the headlamp assembly is reinstalled by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
