Operating Conditions

To operate:

Press the BSD switch with the Engine Start/Stop button in the ON position. The indicator on the switch illuminates. If vehicle speed exceeds 30 km/h, the system is activated.

To cancel:

Press the BSD switch again. The indicator on the switch will turn off. When the system is not in use, turn it off by pressing the switch.

✽ NOTICE

  • If the engine is turned off and on, the system returns to its previous state.
  • When the system is on, the warning indicator will illuminate for 3 seconds on the outside rearview mirror.

Warning Type

The system is activated when:

1. The system is turned on.

2. Vehicle speed is above 30 km/h.

3. Other vehicles are detected at the rear.

If a vehicle is detected within the system range, the warning light will illuminate on the outside rearview mirror and the head-up display.

If the detected vehicle is no longer within the warning range, the warning will turn off depending on driving conditions.

Second-Stage Warning

The second-stage warning is activated when:

1. The first-stage warning is activated.

2. The turn signal is turned on to change lanes.

When the second-stage warning is activated, the outside rearview mirror warning, head-up display and alarm will sound. The steering wheel will also vibrate (if equipped with LKAS).

If you turn off the turn signal, the second-stage warning is deactivated.

Detection Sensor

The sensors are located inside the rear bumper.

Always keep the rear bumper clean so that the system operates correctly.

Warning Message

A message will appear warning the driver if foreign objects are present on the rear bumper. The indicator light on the switch will turn off, and the system will turn off automatically.

Remove any foreign material from the rear bumper.

After foreign material is removed, drive the vehicle for approximately 10 minutes. The system will then operate normally.

If the system does not operate normally even after foreign material has been removed, take your vehicle to an authorized HYUNDAI dealer and have the system inspected.

If the system malfunctions, a warning message will appear and the indicator light on the switch will turn off. The system will turn off automatically. Have your vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
