Description

Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) System: When the driver brakes suddenly, the stop lamps or hazard warning lamps flash to warn the vehicle behind.
  1. Main function (stop lamp/hazard lamp flashing)
    A. Operating conditions: sudden braking above a specified speed, or ABS operation
    B. Release condition: when sudden braking ends or the ABS function is turned off.
  2. Additional function (turn signal flashing)
    A. Operating conditions: sudden braking at low speed
    B. Release condition: when the vehicle starts moving.
