Headlight Delay Function

~1min read

If you place the engine start/stop button in the ACC or OFF position with the headlights (and/or position lights) on, the headlights (and/or position lights) will remain on for approximately 5 minutes. However, with the engine off, if the driver's door is opened and closed, the headlights (and/or position lights) will turn off after 15 seconds.

The headlamps (and/or parking lamps) can be turned off by pressing the lock button on the Smart Key twice or by turning the light switch to the OFF or AUTO position. However, if you turn the light switch to the AUTO position when it is dark outside, the headlamps will not turn off.

You can enable or disable the Headlamp Delay feature in User Settings mode (Light) on the LCD display.

✽ NOTICE

If the driver exits the vehicle through another door (other than the driver's door), the Battery Saver function does not operate and the Headlamp Delay function is not automatically canceled. As a result, the battery may be discharged. In this case, be sure to turn off the lamps before exiting the vehicle.
