Inspection

  1. Turn the ignition on.
  2. Blow warm air into the aspirator of the in-car sensor. Measure the resistance of the sensor between terminals 1 and 3.
    1. Sensor Ground
    2. Blower Motor (-)
    3. In-Car Sensor (+)
    4. Ignition 2

    Specification
Temperature [°C(°F)] Resistance between terminals 1 and 3 (kΩ)
    -30(-22) 509,57
    -20(-4) 285,61
    -10(14) 164,65
    0 (32) 97,71
    10(50) 59,67
    20(68) 37,48
    30(86) 24.17
    40(104) 15,98

The in-car sensor is a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor. Resistance increases at lower temperatures and decreases at higher temperatures.

Replacement

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. Remove the airbag center panel. (Refer to Body - "Airbag Side Garnish Assembly")
  3. Remove the in-car sensor (A).
  4. Install in the reverse order of removal.
