Airbag deployment conditions
Front airbags
The front airbags are designed to inflate in a frontal collision, depending on the severity, speed and angle of impact.
Although the front airbags (driver and passenger side) are designed to inflate only in a frontal impact, they may also inflate in other cases if the sensors detect an impact that is sufficiently severe.
If the vehicle underbody strikes bumps or objects on rough roads, the airbags may deploy. Drive carefully on these types of roads or on surfaces not designed for vehicle traffic to avoid unintended airbag deployment.

Side or curtain airbags (if equipped)
Side and curtain airbags are designed to inflate when the side impact sensors detect a collision, depending on the force, speed and angle of impact.
Side and curtain airbags are designed to inflate only in side collisions, but they may also inflate in other cases if the sensors detect a sufficiently strong impact.
If the vehicle underbody strikes bumps or objects on rough roads, the airbags may deploy. Drive carefully on these types of roads or on surfaces not designed for vehicle traffic to avoid unintended airbag deployment.
