Wheel Replacement
1. Park on a level surface and firmly apply the parking brake.
2. Shift the manual transmission into R (Reverse) or the automatic transmission into P (Park).
3. Turn on the hazard warning flashers.
4. Remove the wheel nut wrench, jack, jack handle, and spare tire from the vehicle.
5. Block the front and rear of the wheel diagonally opposite the jacking position.
WARNING
Tire Replacement
- To prevent the vehicle from moving during tire replacement, always fully apply the parking brake and always place wheel chocks diagonally opposite the tire being replaced.
- It is recommended to chock the vehicle wheels and do not allow anyone to remain inside the vehicle while it is raised on the jack.

6. Insert a flat-tip screwdriver into the slot of the wheel cover and carefully pry off the wheel cover (if equipped).
Loosen the wheel nuts counterclockwise by one turn, but do not remove them until the wheel is off the ground.

7. Position the jack at the front or rear jacking point closest to the wheel you are replacing. Place the jack at the locations shown under the frame. Our jacking supports consist of plates welded to the frame with two legs and a protruding mark that must align with the jack.
WARNING
Jacking Point Location
To reduce the risk of injury, use only the jack supplied with the vehicle and position it correctly; never use any other part of the vehicle as a jacking point.

8. Insert the jack handle into the jack and turn it clockwise to raise the vehicle just enough so the tire is off the ground. This height is about 30 mm. Before removing the wheel nuts, make sure the vehicle is stable and there is no risk of movement or slipping.
9. Loosen the wheel nuts and remove them by hand. Then remove the wheel from the bolts and lay it flat so it cannot roll away. To mount the spare wheel on the hub, align the holes with the bolts and slide the wheel onto them. If this is difficult, slightly move the wheel and align the hole at the top of the wheel with the upper bolt. Then gently tilt the wheel forward and backward until it slides onto the other bolts.
WARNING
- Wheels and wheel covers may have sharp edges. Handle them carefully to avoid possible serious injury.
- Before installing a wheel, make sure nothing (such as dirt, resin, gravel, etc.) is on the hub or wheel mounting surface that would prevent the wheel from seating flat against the hub. Remove any such material. If there is not good contact between the mounting surfaces of the wheel and hub, the wheel nuts may loosen and the wheel may come off. Losing a wheel may cause loss of vehicle control, resulting in serious injury or death.
10. To install the wheel, hold it on the bolts, screw the wheel nuts onto the bolts, and tighten them by hand. Check that the wheel is fully seated, then tighten the nuts firmly by hand again.
11. Lower the vehicle to the ground by turning the wheel nut wrench counterclockwise.

Then position the spacer as shown in the illustration and tighten the wheel nuts. Make sure the socket is fully seated on the nut. Do not stand or step on the wheel wrench, and do not use an extension on the wheel wrench.
Go around the wheels and tighten each nut in the sequence shown in the illustration until all of them are firmly tightened. Then check that each nut is tightened. We recommend having the system checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer when you change the wheels of your vehicle.
Wheel nut tightening torque:
Steel wheel or aluminum alloy wheel: 9~11 kg·m
If you have a tire pressure gauge, remove the valve cap and check the tire air pressure. If the pressure is lower than recommended, drive slowly to the nearest gas station and inflate the tires to the correct pressure. If it is too high, release air until the pressure is correct. Always replace the valve cap after checking or adjusting the tire pressure. If the cap is not replaced, air may leak from the tire. If you lose the valve cap, buy a new one and install it as soon as possible.
After replacing the wheel, always secure the flat tire in place, then return the jack and tools to their proper storage locations.
NOTICE
The wheel studs and wheel nuts of your vehicle have metric threads. When removing a wheel, make sure that the nuts removed are the ones that go back on, or, if you are replacing them, that you use metric-threaded nuts with the same seat configuration. Installing a non-metric nut on a metric stud, or vice versa, will not properly secure the wheel to the hub and will damage the stud, which will then need to be replaced.
NOTE: Most acorn-type nuts are not metric-threaded. Pay special attention to the thread type before installing spare nuts or wheels.
If in doubt, we recommend contacting an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
WARNING
Wheel studs
If the studs are damaged, they may lose the ability to hold the wheel. This may result in loss of the wheel and a collision, causing serious injury.
To prevent the jack, jack handle, wheel nut wrench and spare wheel from rattling while driving, store them properly.
WARNING
Incorrect spare tire pressure
Check the tire pressure as soon as possible after installing the spare wheel. If necessary, adjust it to the specified pressure. See Chapter 8, "Tires and Wheels".
